Sad Swallow, A Two Sentence Story, Fairytale Retold

In a voice that plucked at her heart strings, her dear swallow lamented, “All winter we exchanged stories, my beautiful Thumbelina, and it made my heart soar. When you climbed upon my back and begged me to take you to my favorite far away land, how could I have known my happy dream would end with you forsaking me for another?”

She pelts him with bunchberries the first time they meet. The black wolf would suffer the sticky mess an entire day if it meant listening to her sweet laughter and the soothing sound of her wings, but he has a job to do.

Though the Fae realms are at war with the witches, in the Tsuga Kingdom, the Nightshade sisters have mysteriously kept to themselves in the confines of a dark forest… until they dare to kidnap an innocent subject beloved by all.

King Trevan Starwillow turns to the human side of the portal for help after learning about a rogue wolf shifter from Montana rumored to have special knowledge of the covens and an unmatched reputation as a mercenary. But the king’s daughter suspects there is another reason fate brought the shadowy green-eyed warrior to her lands.

I love this short story! The setting is incredibly immersive, the characters are well fleshed out and captivating, and it got me wanting more. Great writing wraps everything together perfectly. “His eyes found hers again.” Also, I have a huge crush on Sam now.

Priss Starwillow and Samuel Harrison make their first appearance in their future in The Starlight Chronicles novels. Sam is introduced in Ursus Borealis, and Drago Incendium introduces Priss. Priss Starwillow & the Wolf and The Last of the Glenning Crows take you back in time to the beginning of the Fae War when the pair hook up in the Tsuga Kingdom.

About the Other Stories in the Priss Starwillow bundle

In addition to the two Tsuga Kingdom stories, you’ll find an eclectic mix of genres, characters, and worlds… like the giant Greek god Tityus in his underground grotto, horribly bored from endless torture and looking for entertainment. How about a cannibal comedy with a ferryman taking a group of serial killers to a masked party through an eerie swamp?

Meet Mareduke, one of the last Kassian dragons who encounters a toddler alone in the woods… and on a mission. You’ll even meet a pair of fun Oscar fish trying to get fed while this mundane household chore keeps getting interrupted by a stranger wielding a butcher knife.

To start off 2024 with a whole new genre, I added a bonus whodunnit mystery, Little Shop of Honeybees. Thank you for giving my stories a read.

What is so awesome about the Other Stories is that they are free for your entertainment right here on my website. ~ In case you might like to support me as an independent author, you can buy the bundle in a pretty ebook for 99 pennies. It’s available in paperback and Google Audio, too! Thank you!

Not Sure Why, But I’m Sure Enjoying May

It’s the Little Things This isn’t even mine, but my husband’s photograph. He was out on his ebike 30 minutes away from us. But his enjoyment is my enjoyment. Pretty fabulous to crest a trail and see this. I so enjoy pet sitting for Mack and Elway. Wouldn’t you? We had a lovely week together…

The Starlight Chronicles Reviews

★★★★★

Fun, mystical and full of tension

This book feels like a mixture of Twilight and True Blood (minus the vampires) all the while being rooted in its very own vibe and charm. Characters are real, relatable and have depth. The tension that Lewellyn crafts jumps off the pages. Delving into the exciting fantasy world with both Selena and Andras’ perspectives was a fresh and fun experience. It was an incredibly fun read!

Wow! When can we expect Book Three! This was fabulous!

I was up to 1 am last night to finish Drago Incendium. And I LOVED it! It was unbelievably exciting, sexy and ingenious! I am fascinated and impressed by how the author develops the different scenarios, relationships, and supernatural aspects that make the story so engrossing. Also her ability to create scenes that leave us with questions and wanting to know more…wanting answers! Not to mention the fascinating new characters that are introduced in this book! I’m in love with Elliot … and beguiled by Mortas … but I won’t say anymore! Kudos to the author! And thank you for a fabulous read!

Amazing

I cried, I laughed, and I was angry. The ride was so worth it! This series was my introduction to reading this genre. I have found this to be some of the best writing, story telling and follow through on all character paths of any prior reading of any genre.
